John completed a Urology Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas, involving advanced oncology training. He now has three decades of experience in major urologic oncology.
- Broad experience at RAH and in private practice, with open pelvic oncology surgery to treat bladder and prostate cancer
- Deep experience in reconstructive surgery after bladder cancer with neobladder formation, renal cancer with open resection for advanced tumours, nephron sparing surgery with partial nephrectomy and laparoscopic surgery for minimally invasive removal
- Head of the Unit at RAH transitioning extensive open experience with modern minimally invasive robotic surgery
- Recognised as a da Vinci Surgeon on the company’s official website
John completed the da Vinci training program and credentialing with a training course in Hong Kong. He also mentored in the learning program with the robotic surgical team from South Terrace Urology with robotic radical prostatectomy
